DT Max T2

New feature: Quebec COR-17.U barcode summary

In accordance with Revenu Quebec specifications, starting with version 10.12 and for taxation years 2006 onward, DT Max T2 generates a two dimensional (2D) barcode summary entitled COR-17.U Données de la déclaration de revenus des sociétés. This French-only form is needed for paper filed CO-17 returns and may span multiple pages. Please note that the pre-existing COR-17.W keying summary is still required.

There are two situations for which the COR-17.U will not be generated:

    • If form CO-1167 for insurance corporations is present
    • If the corporation tax return is amended

Program certification

DT Max T2 v10.12 has undergone an authorization process with Revenu Quebec for the paper (including barcode form COR-17.U) and efile versions of the CO-17 return, and has been approved under number RQCO-0603.

Form TP-985.22 entitled Information return for registered charities and certain recognized organizations, has been authorized under number RQRM-0601.

Version 10.12 has also received certification for the Manitoba corporation capital tax return, form MCT 1.

Please be advised that DT Max calculations have been updated to reflect the latest legislative changes for Alberta and Ontario as described below. The forms could not be edited to reflect these latest changes since form certification procedures are required.

    • Alberta: The business limit for the small business deduction has been increased to $430,000 January 1 2007, i.e. 215%.
    • Ontario: The capital deduction has been increased to $12,500,000 on January 1, 2007; the capital tax rate has been reduced by 5% starting January 1, 2007.

Special note

Please note that if you produced returns with capital losses carried back with version 9.35 for a corporation with a jurisdiction in Ontario and/or Alberta, the amount carried forward for these jurisdictions under the CapHistory keyword was not reduced by the amount carried back to previous years. To rectify the carryforward information, please recalculate the affected tax returns with version 10.12 using Alt-F9 or the Recalculate current client option of the Tools menu.
